Welcome Year 5s!
Easter message from Mrs Roper
Come and visit us in the Year 5 Google Classroom
where Mrs. Roper and Mrs. Barker are posting activities for you to do at home.
Remember to keep your mental maths skills sharp by doing quick bursts on TTRockstars! Maybe contact your friends online and arrange a battle!
Another great maths game for you to use is Prodigy. Look it up online then register as a new player. You can join our class using the code: EB1F36.
Easter Holiday Maths
Over Easter we will provide 2 fun activities each day to enjoy at home
This link is for those of you who like to have a go at those challenging puzzles and problems in maths.
Reading is really important so make sure you fit some in every day! Books, magazines, web pages are equally great. You could email us a quick review of any books you have read. We will post the best ones on Amazon.
ReadTheory is an excellent website for improving reading comprehension. Use this email: email@example.com to join our class.
Spelling Shed will continue to have the Year 5 spelling patterns assigned each week but don't forget you should keep practising words from the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 general lists.
These activities can be done at home with an adult over the course of a couple of weeks. You may not have 50g weights, but a lump of blu-tack or similar attached to the bottom of your parachute will work just as well- just remember to keep that test fair by using the same sized lump on each parachute!!
Send us a photo of you having a go at these activities!
The downloads below are all available for you to use as you choose. Everything is specifically designed for Year 5 so will be perfect for consolidating your learning or for those of you who enjoy extra school-based tasks!
