Welcome to Year 3.

One of the books we have been reading for our Stories topic is Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. An important aspect of the story is the emerging cinema scene that was happening at the time the book is set. We watched one of the silent black and white movies cited in the book: Le Voyage Dans Le Lune which you can watch below.

A Trip to the Moon (French: Le Voyage dans la Lune), alternately Voyage to the Moon, is a 1902 French black-and-white silent science fiction film. It is based loosely on two popular novels of the time: Jules Verne's From the Earth to the Moon and H. G.

Times Tables and Spelling Websites

The top two websites are for the homework that we set in class. Times Table Rockstars is currently set to automatic mode where the children have to get 20 questions correct in 1 minute to be moved onto the next level. Spelling Shed word lists will change regularly. The children need to practise their set list(s) five times before they are free to try other spellings. They can earn 'honey pots' to spend on changing how their avatar looks, just like in Rockstars.

Homework - Spelling Shed Practise the spellings set for this week five times. Then you may practise with different lists and play the beekeeper game.
