By the end of Reception, our aim is for most children to be able to: 
  • count objects reliably with numbers from 1 to 20

  • recognise and place numbers 1 to 20 in order 

  • say which number is one more or one less than a given number

  • use quantities and objects to add two single-digit numbers and count on to find the answer

  • use quantities and objects to subtract by counting back to find the answer. 

  • to solve problems, including doubling, halving and sharing
