January 2020

The new year and term started with a bang. Freak shows, mysteries and intrigue surround our new topic and book, 'Wild Boy'. We were lucky to have Stuart in from Circus Skills York to help the children try out spinning plates, juggling and much more.

Maths revision of calculating and ordering fractions (with different denominators) using post-it notes and rulers.

On Thursday 9th Jan, 'Tagtiv8' ran workshops across the day - some more active maths was enjoyed with buckets and tags!

Pupil Voice is an essential part of our school curriculum. Isaac and Ellie led our weekly session where we voted on the name of 'Red House' and made some thoughtful action points to help improve the school over the next few weeks; great discussion and thoughts were made by all.
We are really enjoying our 'Wild Boy' work at the moment. Look below for work on the text analysis of the characters Clarissa and Wild Boy; the storyboard of Wild Boy so far; a Queen Victoria factual poster; and some maths co-ordinate activities of Victorian London!

Year 6 children completing the Bikeability Level 1 and 2 course around the school and roads - well done team!

RE - learning about rules and consequences - which of these would you wish for?

Designing and making electrical circuits (and also drawing the correct elctrical symbols). This will prepare the children in making their own electrical machines!
