Day of the Dead

We had lots of fun in our mini topic on Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). We learnt all about how it is celebrated, who celebrates it and where they are in the world. We decorated our classrooms with 'papel picado', sugar skulls and tissue paper marigolds and had fun with a pinata! We also created an 'offrenda' in class which is an altar where photos of deceased family members are placed alongside decorations, candles and items that were special to them. It was great to see what the children had brought in and hear them talk about their family.
