Autumn 2
For the first few weeks of November, our topic will encapsulate the life of 'Modern Germany'. We will be reading Philip Pullman's 'Clockwork' as our main book which is based in Glockenheim, Germany. A tormented apprentice clock-maker, a deadly mechanical knight in armour - and the sinister Dr Kalmenius, who some say is the devil. More of this will be revealed over the next few weeks.

Our November precept - courtesy of American philosopher, William James:
Towards the end of November, our topic shifted towards Charles Dickens' classic: 'The Christmas Carol.' We have been working on this Victorian tale in preparation for a full-blown topic on Victorians in January 2020.
