Autumn 1- Gallery

In our Science lessons, we have been investigating which materials are waterproof and lightweight to make a bucket from.

In art we have been looking at the artist Paul Klee and how he used different shapes and patterns to create abstract art. We then drew our own skyscrapers using different shapes to create our own London skyline within the classroom.

This week (w.c. 27.9.21) we had a visit from Sir William Petty. He helped us understand more about how the Great fire of London spread. We carried out lots of experiments to help with this learning.

We have been learning all about the types of houses that were in London before the Great fire in 1666. Here are the results of our Tudor houses that we have made.

We became architects just like Norman Foster (who designed The Gherkin) and created our own model London Skyscrapers from foil, paper and art straws.

We really enjoyed our first day in Year 2 - especially when we got to see the animals! We all asked lots of curious questions during our time with each set of animals too.
